Chicken Hartz

I'm in the mood for writing today. It has been a while since my last post. so here I have another famous restaurant at our favourite dating place, Sunway Pyramid we found a couple of years ago, Chicken Hartz. This is the place where we had our first date together (alone). Of course the first time we weren't being ourselves, we were still malu-malu and didn't finish our food because we didn't concentrate much on the food but more on each other. hehehe.

The second time we came, both of us ate like there was no tomorrow, plus we were really hungry at the time. After that, we went there for more than we can remember and we brought along so many different people along with us.

It was still cheap when we first knew this restaurant but now the price is different. The main dish is of course chicken and all its parts prepared in various ways such as fried, grilled and many more.
Besides chicken, they also serve many types of vegies such as those shown in the pictures.

The salad was so good that we couldn't get enough of it. They also have steamed corn (or jagun as my masam would call it) besides fried mix vegies.
There was nothing really special about the dessert but for some strange reasons it made our taste buds keep asking for more the next day. Weird.

This restaurant is situated on the ground floor next to Nandos. The price now is approximately around RM20+ for adult and RM10+ for kids. It is a bit crowded during lunch hour so do not come during that time. I would give it 4 out of 5 stars for this one.

Backyard BBQ

There's nothing I love more that a plate of grilled beef and it tastes even better when it's homemade. On holidays we traditionally hold a family BBQ but in this case there were only 3 of us. It's quite odd that we did it early morning but you never know when that hankering hits you :D

You can see two of my loyal minions doing all the hard work while I wait for the beef to cook and enjoy myself taking pictures.
Minion A is actually being useful while Minion B...well...let's just consider him the court jester..he just prances around to provide entertainment...

That smoke filled the whole backyard with a mouth-watering aroma..guaranteed to cause a serious case of drooling for a range of 50m.

It doesn't get much better than this..not even TGI Friday's can beat your own homemade BBQ..

Fresh from the grill and still sizzling..don't feel guilty if you're drooling now hehe...

The finished product...all it needs now is a generous helping of sauce..you can see the sauce being prepared by Minion A in one of the earlier pictures.

Yeah...I think we overdid the sauce a little...You can see fries drowning in the sauce hahaha..still, it didn't make the beef any less delicious..after the BBQ our clothes smelled just like the beef for a bit..and more than one poor soul resorted to inhaling the smell after finishing their portion and wanting more :P
This is one tradition I'm definitely going to continue once we get our own house in the future ^^

Home-Cooked Chicken Porridge

Sometimes I get this itch to cook something for myself and others and this is what I whipped up 2 years back. I really really love porridge and this is not some normal infatuation..it goes to the level of obsession.
This is what I came up with one short trip to the groceries store later. I bought a chicken thigh, boiled it in chicken stock until the flesh can be pulled apart and used the stock as a base for the porridge. The rest of the stuff I just added what I felt would be right in a porridge. It's quite delicious for something made without a recipe or plan and I'm quite proud of myself for this.

First post by me..woot!

Hi Everyone!

Recent events that transpired made me want to start up this blog again. Ms. Murni has been busy with her working life for the past year or so but we are planning to liven up this place again and this time I'll be around to help her with it.

We actually have a boat-load of pics from our various outings to fulfill our cravings for more and more yummy food but tonight I'll start off with something old and nostalgic...something we can reminisce about in view of our big event in July hehe...

This fine example right here is from Asiari in SACC mall in Shah Alam..we went there quite smoe time ago, 3 years ago I believe..The restaurant serves a fusion between western-style and asian cuisines. This curious little dish right here is what would happen when roti canai marries a hot dog and had a child. You can't see it in this picture but there's a tasty filling of meat and veges inside it. It was a very unique experience that reminded me of the restaurant up until today even though we never went there again.

Shown in the second picture are the rest of what we ordered..the drinks are just the usual stuff and so are the chicken chops..it wasn't that special and to be honest I'm scratching my head right now trying to recall what it tasted like..

The prices there were quite steep as we were just students at the time but the cozy atmosphere more than made up for it. I remember us laughing and fooling around in our booth and it never bothered anyone there.

I'll dig around my PC for more pictures and update the blog later on..stay tuned for more food stories on the life journeys of two chubby people who are trying their darnedest to diet but can't quite seem to do it :D
